Reckless driving and bad roads are the main reasons there is a regular traffic jam at Iba-Iyana School Junction. Although there are many Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officials on the ground at the axis, there is no respite for students of Lagos State University, and other people who are plying that road daily.
It is a regular occurrence having heavy traffic, which prevents students and other road users from getting to their destination on time.
Most of the students who live off the campus either come late or miss their lectures and worse still, they sometimes miss their tests.
However, students and the management of Lagos State University have complained bitterly to the Lagos State Government on many occasions; they are still struggling to find the solution to the problem.
Day and night, people waste many hours in heavy traffic, man-hours resulting in low productivity among those whose companies are along the axis.
If the government can come to our rescue and do something urgent on the Iba-Iyana-school axis, it will be of great benefit to road users and students of the institution.
We seek the intervention of the Federal government; better still, if there is a collaboration between Federal and Lagos State Governments to solve this problem, it will go a long way to solving the challenges confronting students and other road users on that route.
