Fuoye to Build 1,600 Bed Space Students Building
Prof Abayomi Sunday Fasina, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye Ekiti performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of a multi-million naira all-purpose 1600-bed space building at the students’ Village of Oye Ekiti campus. The 400-room student building will have supermarkets, laundry rooms, common rooms, and other facilities.
However, some students are unimpressed because development is concentrated at the Oye Campus, leaving the Ikole Campus students to contend with a bad road network, poor infrastructure right from the campus gate, and other essentials begging for attention.
MAD House Unfolds at Unilag
An innovative incubation hub dubbed MAD House has been launched at the University of Lagos (Unilag) by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Folasade Ogunsola.
The MAD House is an acronym for Make A Difference. In the words of the VC, “I’m looking forward to a MAD House changing perceptions; Mad House being involved in not just creatives but adding values of the creatives into sciences… African tech, innovative ways to producing houses using clay; of containers or recycled buses in the construction of MAD House.”
Unilorin Community Appeals for Mass Transport
The Staff and students of the University of Ilorin have appealed to the Kwara State Government to provide mass transit buses to ply the campus route.
This appeal is at the heels of transportation challenges the people have to contend with since the resumption of the new semester. They added that those with private vehicles had to leave them behind because of the high cost of fuel and the associated maintenance cost.
UNILAG: Mr and Miss Jambite 2023/ 2024 Pageant
As part of the orientation of students and fostering interaction among freshers and the academic community, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) organized The Mr and Miss Jambite 2023/ 2024 pageant night.
It was a night of glitz, glamour, and the display of talents by performers as Ukadike Onyekachi of the Department of Creative Arts and Biola Adaku of the Department of Medicine, were crowned Mr and Miss Jambite 2023/2024 respectively.
ALL AFRICA UNIVERSITY GAMES
University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Lagos State University (LASU) have been chosen to cohost the 11th African University Games from September 20-29th, 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria. The event will be showcasing the vibrant sports culture within the region.
The 10th All Africa University Games was hosted by Kenyatta University in 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya on 6th June 2022.
WAEC REGISTRATION DATE EXTENSION
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has extended the registration deadline for the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) to Thursday, February 20, 2024.
Schools are enjoined to seize this extension to ensure the timely completion of their registration to avoid any complications or delays.
65 UNIABUJA BENEFIT FROM SCHOLARSHIP
65 students of the University of Abuja are beneficiaries of the Scholarship by the Hajiya Hadiza Mamman Vatsa Foundation. The founder of the foundation, Hajiya Hadiza Vatsa, said that the gesture had been an integral part of her life and service to God and humanity.
Orphans and other classes of the less-privileged who struggle with the financing of their education are among the beneficiaries.

The Lagos State University (LASU) Radio 95.7 FM will start to air the Weekly Report of Lagos State University Students Union (LASUSU) as officially announced by the Union.
LASU Radio 95.7FM in partnership with the CIPR has scheduled a series of educating and entertaining programmes aimed at raising awareness among members of the university and surrounding communities.
