The Osun State University community experienced profound sorrow on Monday, December 4, as they mourned the untimely passing of Oyedele Emmanuel, a second-year Medical student. Emmanuel tragically succumbed to an asthmatic attack in the early hours of that fateful Monday, despite the desperate attempts made to save him.
Shockingly, he breathed his last moments before reaching the university clinic.
Emmanuel, recognized for his academic brilliance, left the university community shrouded in fear and sadness. Many students were visibly distraught, shedding tears, while others questioned why such a gentle and easy-going young man met such an early demise.
In a poignant gesture, the university community organized a candlelight vigil on Tuesday, December 6th, to mark the beginning of Emmanuel’s journey into the great beyond. The date, December 4, now stands as a somber reminder at Uniosun, commemorating the day when the promising life of Emmanuel was tragically cut short.
The university community expresses a poignant plea for comfort for Emmanuel’s grieving parents and a collective hope that untimely deaths will come to an end at Uniosun.
