Anywhere you find departmental stores, university campuses, shopping malls, dormitories and government departments, walkways serve as a safe passage you can walk along and connect your way to another end.
But in the University of Ilorin, walkways bear many faces, said a student of the institution. He narrated that walkways in the school stand for many interesting and intriguing things.

“Walkways in Unilorin provide where you can sit, relax and feed your eyes. They are the longest structures on the campus, where you see many things. If you want to get rid of boredom, just go and sit by the walkways,” he stated.
He narrated that about ten walkways are named after the blocks. Along them, you run into pretty girls, and handsome, crazy and funny guys, while you come across shoes that will provoke your laughter.
According to him, the Performing Arts students tend to disturb a lot along the walkways but are very interesting to watch. However, the most endowed babes are girls from the Faculty of Social Sciences that you can find around walkways.
His account painted that the most interesting place to be, sit and enjoy yourself is Block 8 where some students sit to watch television and eat burgers (bread and akara), while others laugh at rib-cracking jokes. They laugh at people who don’t have good dress sense too.
For those who are easily attracted to sightseeing, Unilorin walkways have caused them to abandon their primary assignment. For instance, a certain student who was billed for a CBT examination was carried away by eye-catching events along these walkways and missed the examination.
In his narrative, Unilorin walkways are particularly eventful and interesting on Fridays where as you sit down you may end up joining one fellowship, or group or the other.
On Saturdays too, some students may end up spending their money to buy skate shoes which they use to disturb others while they walk along.
In his words you find the most unkempt toilets around Blocks Six, seven and Eight walkways, however, banks such as Jaiz Microfinance Bank are located at Block three, from where you can weithdraw from the ATM if you need cash.
He added that around these walkways are 14 kiosks where you perceive allouring smell of toast bread, but kiosk 12 is the best for what he described as ‘Engineering Burgers.’
According to him, within and around the walkways are ten administrative Blocks comprising the Unilorin Microfinance Bank, Unilorin Merchandise Shop, National Resources Capacity Building, business kiosks and mini shops, among others.
