The University of Port Harcourt has moved against Drug abuse as the Legislative Council of the University and the Youth Anti-Corruption Society collaborated by organizing a sensitization programme on the negative impact of drug abuse.
This was disclosed recently by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Owunary A. Georgewill, in his report in This Week In Retrospect in The University of Port Harcourt ( Monday 13th-Friday 17th November).
The VC stated that students were sensitized on several red flags of drug abuse and the panacea for such actions.
In another development, the University’s 86 alumni of the University has donated 32 units of solar panels to the institution.
The University received the delivery and installation of these panels which were put across the streets, and 10,000 watts inverters installed across Donald Ekong Central University Library.
Professor Georgewill expressed his happiness saying, “…we are glad about this laudable initiative and would like to use the medium to appreciate the U86 set and assure them of utmost use of these items for the advancement of our dear country.”
