The Afrobeats stars, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Rema, Ayra Starr, Asake and Adekunle Gold have been nominated by MOBO Awards for the Best African Music Act Category.
Others who were nominated for the Best Music Art Category are Libianca, Tyla and Uncle Waffles.
The event, which is the 26th edition of MOBO Awards founded in 1996, will come up at the Utilita Arena, Sheffield, on February 7, 2024, with highlights broadcast on BBC One.
The organizers disclosed that the eligibility period for the edition is from September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023.
MOBO Founder, Kanya King, said since 1996, the organization has celebrated black music and culture, breaking new ground and leading the way, seeing MOBO evolve and innovate to champion outstanding talent beyond music.
He said, ” We are proud to champion this year’s incredible lineup of nominees for the 26th MOBO Awards who have all brought stellar music and content to our attention through their remarkable work in music, film, TV, Online and more.”

Chunks and Yung Filly played host to the event last year which featured one-of-a-kind performances from Tion Wayne, Fireboy DML, Beenie Man, FLO, Nile Rodgers, and Craig David among others.
