Zarttalent, a foundation focused on promoting digital literacy in Nigeria, has announced a new collaboration with Nigerian universities to empower students with essential technological skills through its academy program.
The partnership officially commenced on February 12, 2024, with a successful launch event held at Afe Babalola University, Ekiti State.
More than 100 students attended the event, where they were introduced to a variety of tech courses and workshops developed by the Zarttalent Academy to prepare them for today’s competitive job market.
Nelson Ajulo, the Chief Executive Officer of Zarttalent Foundation, expressed his excitement about the collaboration and its potential impact on students.
“We are thrilled to partner with Nigerian universities to empower students with vital technological skills, setting them up for success,” he said.
“By combining academic and practical training, we aim to equip students with the tools they need to excel in the digital age.
As the demand for tech skills continues to rise, partnerships like these will play a crucial role in shaping Nigeria’s digital economy.”
As part of its commitment to promoting gender equality in technology, the Zarttalent Foundation offers a 30% scholarship to women who wish to enroll in the academy.
This initiative is in line with the foundation’s broader goal of training 2000 women in technology across Africa over the next five years, contributing significantly to Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) objectives.
According to a 2023 UNICEF statement, 73% of Nigerian youth are literate, but only 7% possess the ICT skills required for success in a digital economy.
The strategic collaboration between Zarttalent Foundation and Nigerian universities aims to bridge this gap by empowering the next generation of tech leaders and fostering innovation in Nigeria’s education sector.
The Zarttalent Academy offers specialized training in Frontend Engineering, Backend Engineering, Project Management, and Product Design.
Graduates of these programs receive globally recognized certifications, international internship opportunities, access to global mentors, international job placements, and dedicated career support services.
Zarttalent Foundation was established in 2021 by Zarttech, a socially responsible software and technology consultancy firm that cultivates uniform and strategic relationships across multiple continents.
