The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) are discussing the possibilities of establishing a driver’s licence centre at ABU.
Both institutions discussed this while the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala, was on a courtesy visit to the Corps Marshal in Abuja recently.
To establish the centre, FRSC is considering the institution’s size and the recent approval for ABU Consultancy Services (ABUCONS) Driving School.
Likewise, the two institutions will explore areas of collaboration in sports development.
They aim to achieve this through public-private Partnership as the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala and Corps Marshal, FRSC, Dauda Ali Biu, discussed the enormous benefits of the collaboration.
Professor Bala highlighted the untapped potentials of ABU sports and the need to explore them through collaboration.
Professor Bala added that the institution’s sports initiative could contribute towards sports talents development and generate substantial income for the institution with the right support and investment.
