The National University Commission (NUC) has commended Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU) for its activities on Students Industrial Work Experience Schemes (SIWES), as well as it’s ENACTUS team for producing shoe polish. NUC gave the commendation as its three-member team paid a courtesy call on the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala, when carrying out its assessment duties on SIWES and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) of the University.
The team, led by Professor Muhammad Yanuza Bello, expressed that ABU’s SIWES was a very organized unit, with all its records well documented.
Professor Bello, as well urged the University management to commercialize the shoe police it produced to become a source of internally generated revenue (IGR) for the institution.
He praised the institution’s Directorate of University Advancement for its solicitation efforts and expansion of its activities.
Speaking, Professor Bala expressed his gratitude to the team and assured them of his commitment towards improving the areas identified.
