Nollywood actor and colleague of Jumoke Aderonmu, who died recently, Jide Awobona, has revealed that the actress isolated herself before her demise. Awobona disclosed while responding to the allegation that Aderonmu’s brother leveled against actress Funke Akindele for abandoning Aderonmu during her moment of illness, that the deceased actress isolated herself.
Awobona said he complained so much about the isolation while speaking at length with each other.
The actor however, wrote in defense of Akindele that, ” I don’t feel like saying anything about this but I need to let the world know that Aunty Funke called me to ask of Jumoke because she knows we were cool.
“She insisted I call her to be sure she was fine. I did, we spoke at length and I complained about her isolating herself…”
Awobona expressed in a separate Instagram message, pleading, “Jumoke I tried, but it wasn’t enough. I am sorry, May God forgive your sins and ensure peaceful rest.”
The deceased was a co-star with Awobona in Funke Akindele’s Jenifa’s Diary, before the death of the 40-year-old actress.
Meanwhile, after Akindele had mourned Aderonmu’s’ death over social media, the brother of the deceased complained that Akindele neglected his sister when she needed help, referring to her as a hypocrite.
Aderonmu died on Saturday, April 6, as confirmed by her brother on Instagram, while her funeral ceremony was held at Owu Baptist Church, Totoro area of Abeokuta in Ogun State.
