Is Mr Ibu Dead? Yes, Cause of Death Revealed!

The popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu, is said to have died of cardiac arrest. This was revealed by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr Emeka Rollas, through an Instagram post.

Rollas said Ibu’s manager confirmed that the actor died of cardiac arrest.

The disturbing news of his death occurred at a time when the entire Nollywood family had been hit by the death of another actor, Sisi Quadri, who was reported to have died of kidney disease.

Ibu revealed on October 2023 that he was battling with an illness that made him lose one of his legs which got amputated after undergoing surgery.

However, he had been recuperating after the leg was cut off before the shocking news of his death occurred.

While in the hospital, he had sought financial help from Nigerians, some of whom hearkened to his voice, donating their widow’s mite.

The request for financial assistance generated controversy between his immediate family and the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

Meanwhile, upon his death, some Nollywood actors and actresses have been expressing their condolences, mourning the end of a legendary colleague.
