The Guinness World Record (GWR) holder in Cook-a-thon, Hilda Baci, has been dethroned by an Irish cook, Alan Fisher, to emerge as the new world record holder.
The announcement was made by GWR on their official X page recently.
Fisher toppled Baci by recording an impressive 119 hours and 57 minutes as against Baci’s time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
Fisher did not only break Baci’s record but also broke the record of the longest baking marathon by an individual.
Reacting, Baci congratulated Fisher, saying “119 hrs and 57 mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him the best as the new world record holder.”
GWR declared Baci as their record holder after cooking for 93 hrs 11 mins in a competition she began on May 15, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen escapade.
She surpassed the previous winner, Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, who achieved her feat in 2019 cooking for 87 hours and 45minutes.
