Renowned music artist, Davido, has addressed the recent claims made by his fellow artist, Oyindamola Emmanuel, known as Dammy Krane, regarding unsettled debts. Davido clarified that he had never received compensation for the three verses he provided for Dammy Krane’s song nearly a decade ago.
Dammy Krane had taken to social media on Tuesday to assert that Davido owed him for their collaborative effort on the track “Pere.” He appealed to Davido to resolve the outstanding payment, citing his daughter’s upcoming school fees as the primary motivation behind this request.
In his response on Friday, Davido emphasized that he had not been remunerated for his contributions to Dammy Krane’s song, including the three verses he provided nine years ago. Furthermore, Davido recounted the times he offered Dammy Krane a place to stay and supported him with basic necessities when he was going through a period of homelessness in Atlanta.
Davido stated, “I never received compensation for those three verses, which I generously provided for your career. In addition to my royalties, I charge for my services now, which amounts to approximately $150,000 per verse. I also covered your housing expenses and provided food when you stayed at my residence in Atlanta during your challenging times.”
This revised version conveys the key points of the original story but rephrases it to avoid plagiarism.
