Well endowed, an extraordinary drumming skill has won a five-year-old boy, Jeremiah Travis, a full-ride scholarship to study at Alcorn State University.
The scholarship will be effective in 13 years after which Travis must have finished high school.
Travis, a kindergartener, is a loop drummer in the band at St Helena College and Career Academy in Louisiana, United States.
His drumming talent came to be noticed when he tried his hands in ABC blocks as a baby, advancing in drumming until his natural talent blossomed.
According to Scholarship Region, the boy plays with band members who are at least 10 years older than he is, and he often performs at halftime anytime the New Orleans Pelicans play a basketball game.
Travis’ mother, Nicole Jackson, was elated to see his boy excel and achieve remarkable success.
She expressed, “To know that he is five and has a full scholarship made me feel so good. I am just amazed at his playing level with him being so young.”
The Director of Band at St Helena College and Career Academy, Chesterton Frye, was dazzled by not only the impressive skill Travis displayed but also his mind-blowing work ethic that distinguishes him.
