The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said the 64,624 delayed results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are under scrutiny following the release of the results of 1,842,464 candidates.
This was disclosed by the Registrar of the Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, when he addressed the media, as he hinted that some results were classified as suspicious.
He expressed that 4,594 results are to be subjected to further scrutiny while 78 have been flagged on account of perceived examination misconduct.
Meanwhile, the Honorable Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu has commended the Board for restoring hope in the conduct of public examinations in the country.
He said this while answering questions from newsmen in Abuja, commending JAMB for using cutting-edge technology to improve the conduct of its examination.
Sununu said as a result of improvements made by the Registrar, many professional bodies now entrust the conduct of their examination to JAMB.
“As of today I’m convinced that the possibility of examination malpractice in the course of this examination would be less than 0.001 percent, and I think that is a good thing,” said the Minister.
