Nollywood superstars, Femi Adebayo, Ini Edo, Lateef Oladimeji, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), and Chidi Mokeme were honoured at the recently held 2023 12th edition of AFRIFF Globe Awards.
Other Nollywood stars who were also recognized at the event included Funke Akindele, Tobi Bakre, Chioma Chukwuka, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Kunle Remi.
The event also paraded different winners as ‘I Do Not Come To You By Chance won the Audience Choice Award’ while Ellie Foumbi won the Best Director Award with ‘ Our Father, The Devil.’
Fumilayo Ransome Kuti won “Best Feature Film, while Best Documentary went to “White Nanny, Black Child.
‘All the Colours of the World’ and ‘White Nanny Black Child’ won the Special Jury Prize, ‘Nzu’ won the Best International Short Film, while the Best Screenplay was won by Tunde Babalola and Funmilayo Ransome Kuti.
The Best Animation went to ‘When Hearts Touch,’ Best Student Short Film was ‘Man and Masquerade, as Best Performance Male was won by Gregory Ojefua’s ‘This is Lagos/ Black Harvest.’
The AFRIFF Honours is a platform for the recognition and celebration of extraordinary talents and dedication of individuals who have influenced the Nigerian and African film industry significantly.
