The ace comedian, Ayo Makun aka AY, has narrated how Richard Mofe Damijo aka RMD motivated him to stardom.
He disclosed this while speaking to Nollywood thespian, Iyabo Ojo, expressing that the decision to heed RMD’s advice led to his great comedy career.
AY captured how he was doing all that it takes to get into the entertainment industry, as somewhere along the line he started working in NNPC Junior Staff Club as a bartender.
He narrated how he approached RMD who taught him how important it would be if he could go back to school.
Narrating the advice by RMD, AY stated, “He said Education is important. Afterward, trust me, all these things will follow.”
The comedian added that the prompt from RMD pushed him to seek admission into Delta State University where he later gained admission to study Theatre Arts.
In another development, speaking on what inspired his series, ‘Call to Bar,’ he expressed that he drew inspiration from everything around him, which included his stories and movies that were all triggered by his experience.
“When I was working as a bartender, I would see a lot of people like Alex O and Shina Peters coming to perform, and I would say to myself that someday, somehow, somewhere, sometime in life, I’m going to get into the entertainment space,” said AY.
