Akindele was introduced to politics in 2023 as a neophyte, joining the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), where she emerged as the deputy governorship candidate.
She retracted from politics and returned to the movie industry after PDP lost the election to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
