The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has resolved various issues arising from previous Direct Entry (DE) registration exercises. This was disclosed by the Board at a virtual meeting with the Nigeria Integrated Secondary Education Data System (NIPEDS), the JAMB Professional Registration Centres (PRCs), and service providers.
The issues that were resolved according to the Board included but were not limited to error messages, invalid e-mails, incoherent names and certification, incompatible admission letters and subject combinations, and non-inclusion of the IEIs certificates, among others.
Concerning qualifications, the JAMB IT Consultant, Mr Damilola Bamiro, disclosed that the Board had listed 12 A’ Level qualifications for consideration for DE registration, advising applicants to take cognizance of a series of advertisement in both print and social media on the 2024 DE registration.
Meanwhile, the Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, had cautioned PCRs to work according to guidelines and laid down rules governing the registration exercise.
He urged them to work with the institutions’ lists made available to them, adding that the names must be in line with the ones emanating from JAMB; hence, names registered with JAMB must correspond with those provided by institutions like IJEMB, JUPEB, etc.
He warned against criminal alterations of candidates’ data, advising that whatever is approved for the institutions is what they should upload.
