Nollywood actor, Prince Jide Kosoko, has applauded actress Kehinde Bankole for emerging the Best Lead Actress for her lead role in Adire during the 10th edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) held at Eko Hotel and Suits recently.
Congratulating Bankole on his Instagram page, the veteran actor expressed that the award was long overdue for the thespian, having recognized that she had worked hard to earn the recognition.
Kosoko however admonished Bankole to keep shining, just as she had been advised by a colleague actress, Toyin Abraham.
Previously, the sensational Abraham had also hailed Bankole, expressing that she was the best actress in Africa.
Besides Bankole, other Nollywood stars who clinched trophies during the AMVCA Awards were Tunde Babalola, who won the Best Writing in Movie award (Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti); Best Indigenous Language Film ( West Africa) Femi Adebayo (Jagun Jagun); and Best Supporting Actress Genoveva Umeh (Breath of Life).
It could be recalled that Bankole disclosed sometimes that she was battling personal issues of which she expected the encouragement of fans to get over the challenge.
