Two veteran Nollywood superstars, Kanayo O Kanayo and Pete Edochie are locked in battle of supremacy over who should be senior in Nollywood.
Kanayo had stated in an interview with Afia TV that he started acting before Pete Edochie, saying both of them deserved not to be omitted in Nollywood history.
Kanayo claimed that the popular Nigerian 1985 movie, ‘Things Fall Apart’ through which Edochie earned fame was a cinematic project and not home video production.

He said he was ready to contend with anyone who would want to claim that Edochie preceded him in Nollywood industry.
In like manner, Pete Edochie had also claimed he was older in Nollywood industry as compared to Kanayo.
He said this during an interview with Afia TV, adding he had acted in ‘Things Fall Apart’ before Nollywood started.
He bragged, “I am senior to the movie industry. When I did Things Fall Apart in 1985, there was nothing like Nollywood. By then Nollywood was still slumbering sonorously in the womb of time.
Meanwhile, Kanayo expressed that the achievement of a film maker like Kenneth Nnebue in the 1990s cannot be undermined.
