The legendary Nollywood actor, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, has expressed his disapproval of bum augmentation, known in Nigeria as bum ‘enlargement,’ advising women to desist from undergoing it.
Speaking through his Instagram page, Kanayo said it was an unprofitable thing to embark on, liking it to boyfriend/girlfriend relationship in secondary school where he said, “Not up to 3 percent end in marriage, sadly, this bum thing many of the ladies do not end as wives.”
Kanayo wondered why anybody would subject herself to so much pain, saying it was unprofitable, and adding if husbands are not giving their wives money to do bum bum ‘enlargement,’ it is not profitable.
“If bum bum enlargement was profitable why are husbands not giving their wives money to do it,” he asked.
He said he was physically and spiritually angry, narrating how a Christian lady was forced to do bum ‘enlargement’ by her husband where she contracted infection that took her to the hospital, but when her boyfriend visited her in the hospital he ran out because of bad odour, “Eventually the young lady died,” said Kanayo.
Bum bum enlargement is otherwise known as buttock augmentation, or gluteal augmentation where contour, size and/or shape of the buttock is improved upon through the use of buttock implants, fat grafting or sometimes the combination of both.
It can lead to complications such as disfigurement, infections, stroke and death.
Men are said to have caused the increase rate of butt enlargement surgeries among ladies, where even though they criticise it publicly, they quietly patronize it in private, as expressed by a popular influencer and content creator, Caramel Plugg.
