Even though Southern Kaduna is ravaged by mindless killings and wanton destruction of lives and property, the accomplishments of Nasara James Dabo are a moment of respite for the bloodied region.
It beats anyone’s imagination that a girl who possesses a superior intelligence quotient who sits among the top 1% globally among Mensa applicants could ever have come from the crisis-ridden part of Nigeria where many innocent lives are daily being murdered by trigger-happy bandits.
It’s surprising that from that hellhole comes Nasara, a 13-year-old child prodigy who solved 34 Mathematics problems in 172 seconds, winning a gold medal in the junior category at an International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
According to a former Nigerian Senator, Sheu Sanni on his X handle, after clinching victory at IMO, the exceptionally brilliant student took the Mensa IQ test, having been subjected to strict supervisor, where her IQ score of 150 made her sit in the top 1% globally among other applicants of Mensa.
A student of Ideal College International, Kaduna, Nasara emerged victorious, beating 150 competitors worldwide, securing a total score of 145.
She also obtained the Olympiad champion title in a competition that included participants from over 100 countries.
Among her breathtaking accomplishments is clinching a LIMCA Award for memorizing 673 binary numbers in less than nine minutes at the Memory Championship by Mind Sports Olympiad.
As a result of all these accolades, the Kaduna State Government has awarded Nasara a scholarship to cover both her secondary school and university education.
