Twin sisters, Kehinde Ayomikun Alalade, Taiwo Jane Alalade and four other students of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (Fuoye) have won MTN Scholarship Contest for outstanding Nigeria students.
Other students who displayed their intellectual prowess during the contest are: Adepoju David Ayomide (400 level, Mathematics Department); Ogunbotu Jesutofunmi Mary (Mathematics Department); Adeleye Adedaola David (400 level, Computer Science Department); and Amao Grace Oreoluwa ( Department of Computer Science).
According to the Special Assistant on Media to the Vice Chancellor, Wole Balogun, the contest was organized by the Association of Engineering, Geology and Environment (NAEGE) and MTN to test the intelligence quotient of Nigeria students.
During the competition, Kehinde Alalade emerged the overall best among other students who participated in the NAEGE contest, while her twin sister, Taiwo Alalade, from the same department, had the best presentation of the contest.
After winning the heart of the judge, due to her outstanding performance, Kehinde got an instant cash gift of N20,000 as a reward for her intelligence.
Other four colleagues of the afore-mentioned also did Fuoye proud at the contest, each earning a whooping sum of N.2 million scholarship awards and winning free digital skills training for improved capacity building.
Speaking, one of the winners, Adeleye, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the institution and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fashina for unwavering dedication to offering opportunities such as the scholarship.
