While still mourning the demise of Andy Best, Nollywood is rocked by the death of another actor, Lukman Abdusalam aka Hamburger.
Hamburger was reported to have died of cardiac arrest while on set filming a skit. His death came not to long when the industry lost Best.
He was immediately attended to but despite all effort at reviving him, he succumbed to death.
Hamburger is survived by wife, children and other relations.
SURGERY
Hurray! Medical doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, have successfully performed operation on a 13-day-old baby.
The name of the operation is called Thoracoscopic Primary Repair of Oesophageal Atresia with tracheosophageal Fistula .
The operation was successful while the baby is also doing well.
This is the first of it kinds in any public hospital in Nigeria.
According to Prof Wasiu Adeyemo, Chief Medical Director at LUTH, the surgery through the oesophagus of the neonate entailed minimal access surgery on the baby.
University of Calabar
The on-going industrial action embarked upon by the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian University, SSANU, has paralyzed activities at the University of Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
As of two days ago, the gate of the University was closed and the students were not allowed to enter the campus for their academic activities.
We pray for prompt resolution of the disagreement between SSANU and the federal government.
