The 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) will come up on Monday, May 6, 2024. The body that organizes WASSCE is the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
WASSCE provides basic qualifications for gaining admission to institutions of higher learning like colleges of education, polytechnics, colleges of technology, and universities, upon obtaining a 5 O’Level credit pass which must include Mathematics and English Language.

However, there are things you must not do during the conduct of WASSCE. Those things are listed and explained below:
A candidate must not bring in textbooks, notebooks, prepared materials, blank pieces of paper, any written material, manual, or calculator among other things that can give him an advantage over others. If a candidate violates this law the penalty is cancelation of the results of the subject.
A candidate is not allowed to bring into the examination hall programmable calculators, mobile phones, or any other electronic communication device. Violation of this law attracts the cancellation of the entire result.
A candidate is advised not to tear any part of the question paper, or take an answer booklet outside the examination hall.
He or she is to obey official orders to start or stop work. A candidate must not start work when he has not been ordered to start and must stop work when he is ordered to stop. Any candidate found culpable will have the subject results canceled.
Candidates should not steal, covet, or misappropriate the scripts of other candidates. He/she should not substitute scripts during or after the examination.
A candidate should not seek or receive assistance from supervisors, invigilators, teachers, or other personalities during the examination, failure of which attracts the cancellation of the entire results.
It is against the rules of the examination to pass notes for help, receive or give assistance, or collude in any manner with another person.
A candidate must not write an examination for another person, or allow another person to write the examination on his or her behalf, which attracts the cancellation of the entire results, and barring of such candidate from taking any examination conducted by the Council for less than two years and prosecution.
