A student of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), Shogbayi Dolapo, has won the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria’s (CIBN) scholarship after emerging the second runners up at the National Essay Competition organized by the financial institution.
Dolapo, as a result of his outstanding performance received scholarship for CIBN Banking Professional Examination, as well as opportunity to visit industry leaders and bank managing directors who will offer him networking experience and mentoring service.
As parts of Dolapo’s benefits, the Institute will publish his award-winning essay in its quarterly journal and sponsor him to the annual Banking and Finance Conference in Abuja.
Dolapo also won cash prize of N50,000, a plaque, certificate, HP laptop, as well as have his essay published on the website of the CIBN and other social media platforms.
The essay competition was the 6th edition of Mrs Otunba Debola Osibogun National Essay Competition with the theme, ‘Emerging Innovation in Agtech and Financial Institution: A synergy for Sustainable Growth and Development.’
In the competition that attracted over 200 entries from across the tertiary institutions in the country, Dolapo, an HND 2 Banking and Finance student showed the quality of his intellectual capacity and the quality of education provided by his institution.
