YNaija, in collaboration with Ebonylife, has listed the Nollywood sensational actor, Lateef Adedimeji, and talented actress, Ruth Kadiri in Nollywood 100.
The initiative celebrated the accomplishments and deeds of Nollywood actors and actresses, as well as the progress of the Nigerian film industry as it compiled the 100 most influential actors and actresses in the growth of Nollywood.
Nollywood 100, according to the publisher, recognized the ones who have paved the way for future generations of filmmakers.
“It also amplifies the voices and talents of emerging stars and fresh entrants to the industry,” the initiator said.
Arriving at the list, YNaija stated that it worked with film critics, stakeholders, and writer Iniabasi Jeffery who had played an incredible part in the country’s film industry.
It added that the list was not exhaustive but comprehensive, providing a useful tool for understanding the industry and its current trajectory.
Among others, the initiative looked at Oladimeji as having been able to accomplish tremendously in his films and skits on Netflix. The publisher described his roles in ‘Different Stokes’ and ‘Hotel Labamba’ as superb, while his role in ‘Jagun Jagun’ was powerful as well as a hit on Netflix.
Ruth Kadiri was described as an actress who has created a vibrant community around her films. People in her comment section fervently discuss her films engaging in them and asking for more. She has created titles like Crazy Matilda, In the Morning, and Love Madness to massive audience reception evidenced by the YouTube numbers.
Others in the Nollywood 100 list are Shaffy Bello, Joke Silva, RMD, Olumide Oworu, Editi Effiong, Funke Akindele, Bimbo Ademoye, Ireti Doyle, Toyin Abraham, and Tobi Bakre among others.
