Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Kwara State, is gearing up for its 13th Convocation Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, December 9, 2023, with the Vice President, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, and other esteemed dignitaries set to grace the occasion.
Preceding the convocation on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Moot Court, Atere Campus, Vice President Shettima will deliver a lecture: “Addressing Nigeria’s Food Security Challenge Through HI-Tech Approach: The Role of Nigeria University” at 10:00 am.
Anticipating a gathering of high-calibre guests, the university authorities are preparing for a memorable convocation ceremony.
Established in 2005 by the Abdur-Raheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation (AROIF), Nigeria, Al-Hikmah University received a license to operate as a Conventional Private University from the Federal Government of Nigeria on January 7, 2005 (License No. 010). The university began its academic journey in the 2005/2006 session with 70 students across three take-off colleges: Humanities, Management Sciences, and Natural Sciences.
Currently boasting seven faculties, including Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, Education, Law, Health Sciences, and Agriculture, along with the Postgraduate School, Al-Hikmah University offers a diverse range of programs, including 50 Undergraduate, 12 Diploma, and 43 Postgraduate programs. The university also houses 12 centres dedicated to various disciplines.
With a student population exceeding 7,000, inclusive of Postgraduate students and the Institute of Education, Al-Hikmah University distinguishes itself as a conventional private university committed to academic and moral excellence. The university’s mission, encapsulated in its motto: “Learning for Wisdom and Morality,” underscores its dedication to advancing the cause of humanity.
