Bayero University, Kano has refuted the allegation of 20 fake professors said to be in its service.
In a special bulletin issued by the institution, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, stated that the alleged publication was malicious, doctored and fallacious, capable of denting the hard-earned reputation of the University.
“We emphatically deny the existence of such in our reputable institution of learning, which can be attested to by the recent global ranking released by internationally reputable university assessors,” said the VC.
He expressed that the said fake 20 professors are not staff of the University, as they only exist in the figment of the imagination of the authors of what he described as fake news.
“We call on people to disregard the said publication as not only fake but made with the intent to destroy the reputation of Nigerian universities by some enemies of progress,” the VC added.
Professor Abbas stated further, “For the avoidance of doubt, Bayero University placed a greater premium on quality and standards in all its activities, a policy which has contributed to attaining feats and recognition amongst tertiary institutions of learning in the world.
