The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Professor Sagir Adamu has disclosed that the College of Health Sciences produced the large chunk of health professionals in Nigeria.
The VC, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, BUK, Professor Sani Muhammad Gumel, said this while inducting 315 medical and health professionals on Sept. 8 at the institution’s Convocation Arena.
The college, during the occasion, inducted 44 Doctor of Optometry; 68 Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences; 58 Bachelor of Medical Radiography; and 69 Bachelor of Nursing Sciences and Bachelor of Physiotherapy.
The ceremony witnessed the Hippocratic oath administered on the graduands by registrars of each arm of the medical sciences.
While speaking, the VC said the University was committed to meeting the demands of these professions by providing the requisite facilities with a view to enhancing their capacity.
He congratulated the graduates for realizing their dreams, advising them to be good ambassadors of the University in their chosen careers.
He challenged them to do their parts as Nigeria faces some health challenges like epidemics and pandemics.
