The publisher of the world renowned writer, Chimamanda Adichie, Anwuli Ojogwu has commended the Nigerian teenage writer, Precious Esosa Osaro, on her debut book, “The Price of Pride.” Ojogwu, who is also the publisher of Oyinka Braithwait, in an exclusive interview with Blackcampus Magazine during the launch of “Price of Pride” held at Freedom Gate Auditorium, Ikotun Idimu, Lagos on Saturday May 27, 2023, said the book was a good debut for Precious at age 13.
She spoke glowingly of the book that, “It is imaginative in the design of the plot into 10 chapters which in literature we would describe as aptly the right technique till the end of the story from inciting incidence…”
Ojogwu added, “It is a good moral story exploring themes of good behaviour and it’s reward. It contains lessons for both parents and children.”
“I am most impressed by her ability to communicate her ideas in simple short sentences. They are magic of beautifully written literature.”
“It is a good start for Precious who reminds me of myself at that age writing stories long hand.”
“For Precious, I advise that if this is a passion, then invest in it by reading voraciously and writing continuously, through that process as you become one of the formidable voices in African literature in the future.”
