Precious Esosa Osaro, a 13-year-old authoress has warned against pride and over-pampering in her new book entitled, “The Price of Pride” published by Orasopee Communications Limited. The book launch came up on Saturday May 27, at Freedom Gate Auditorium, Ikotun-Idimu, Lagos, Nigeria.

In the 64-page book, Osaro, a vibrant and lively young writer, teaches that pride can lead a child to a gloomy end, and that over indulgence of a child by parents can result in a disaster of great magnitude.
However, the authoress paints a picture that there is room to make amend when second chance presents itself as an avenue to re-write the past wrongs.
Osaro disclosed that she drew inspiration to write the ten-chapter short storybook from world class and award winning authoress, Chimamanda Adichie, and the late master class story teller, the late Chinua Achebe.
“I just love penning down things as a child, and I asked why don’t I create a book,” she enthusiastically adds, saying she will want to become a surgeon, but using writing as a backup, starting to write now before becoming a medical doctor.
She advises that students, youths and children should not be proud, and that parents should not spoil their children, irrespective of the challenges surrounding the birth and existence of such children.
