The best overall candidate of 2022 diet of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) examination, Miss Olatomide Ayorinde Precious, has said determination, adequate preparation and quality teaching by her lecturer made her emerge as the overall best among others in the exam.
According to Wole Balogun, Senior Adviser to the Vice Chancellor Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Professor Abayomi Sunday Adesina, Precious is a 200 level student of Accounting of the institution.
Precious, speaking further of her exploit, added that her painstaking efforts, encouragement from her parent, as well as her enlisting in a tutorial centre made the difference.
She said she had to embark on extra study, sleepless nights, as well as shun other activities that could distract her.
She spoke glowingly of her father who was a source of inspiration that was always motivating her to try the exam when she started when in 200 level.
According to Precious, one Ismail Izaaq Opeyemi was a very profound support and push to join a tutorial centre to begin with ATS.
“He inspired me by warning that procrastination is a thief of time; this which made me to make up my mind.”
“I found the challenge of trying to maintain my CGPA as a student, as well as fighting hard not to go below 4.0 so I don’t lose my undergraduate Federal Government Scholarship and at the same time studying for ICAN exams.”
Precious scored 91 percent in Corporate Reporting, 98 percent in Advanced Audit and Assurance, 72 percent in Strategic Management, 75 percent in Advanced Taxation and 80 percent in Case Study.
She advised her colleagues who also registered for ICAN never to give up.
