The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mavin Records, Michael Collins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy, is excited as his record label marked 12 years of existence. For Don Jazzy, it has been remarkable years of creating an outstanding brand, as well as artists of world-class, who have influenced the Nigerian music industry positively, and the international community.
Mavin Records prides itself on having more than 10 signees, both past and present, as one of the major record labels in Nigeria.
The record label has brought into the limelight international musicians such as Ayra Starr, Rema, Ladipoe, Jonny Drille, Crayon, and Bayanni, among others.
Out of Mavin Records also grew singers of international repute, like the queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage, and Reekado Bank, who have been successful in their careers.
It could be recalled that in 2012, Don Jazzy introduced Mavin Records to the world when it was launched.
The musicians on Mavin Records had in the past, teamed up to work on popular songs like ‘Dorobucci’, ‘Amina,’ and other songs which ruled the Nigerian music industry for years.
Don Jazzy had, at one time, sold Mavin Records’ majority stake to Universal Music Group (UMG).
The development came about five years after Mavin secured a substantial multi-million dollar investment in 2019 from Kupanda Holdings, a joint venture between Pan African Investment Company Kupanda Capital and TPG Growth.
