The producer of the rave-of-the-moment epic movie, ‘Jagun Jagun’, Femi Adebayo, has disclosed that his worst nightmare is how to beat the movie in his next production.
The Nollywood superstar said when he did ‘King of Thieves,’ he knew he was going to beat it with his next project, but now he doesn’t have such confidence.
The former Special Adviser on Arts, Culture, and Tourism, to former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, added, “We built from scratch the warrior school. We were faced with the challenge of purchasing that land, we wanted to own that land. And at a point, we had an agreement and paid for it, but the children of the owner of the land changed their minds about the land sale.
” We built the school halfway when the children who came from Lagos told us to stop. They were ready to destroy all that we have built and that held us up for almost a week, going to the police station and Obas appealing to them and we were told to only shoot there and not buy it,” Adebayo said.
Speaking further he expressed “Jagun Jagun is a multi-billion naira project and I can’t say the exact amount I spent on shooting it.”
“I used the proceeds of Agesinkole to produce ‘JagunJagun’. I was working on not getting funded by finance houses and individuals. At a point, I was out of finance because I had faith that the project would work, I sold my properties,” Adebayo disclosed.
Within just 48 hours of its release, ‘Jagun Jagun managed to secure a spot in the top 10 in more than 17 countries.
It has recorded 2.1 million hours of viewing time on Netflix since it hit the screens on August 10, 2023.
