The College of Medicine, Federal University of Technology, Akure, will take off with Medical Laboratory Science next Academic Session (2023/24). The information was made known by the Provost, College of Health Sciences, FUTA, Professor Adejuyigbe when Black Campus Magazine interviewed him in his office.
He added that the College of Medicine would train students who will be excellent professionals, it will not be a run-of-the-mill institution but will be a positive reference point
“ We are starting with Medical Laboratory Science next Session and would explore the opportunities of starting the School of Nursing and Dentistry”.
“The school will continue to recruit highly motivated and experienced staff in their various fields. The Medical school would also collaborate with other institutions, both local and outside to achieve our vision”.
“We would quickly establish a good reputation for our medical school, not just one of many”.
He said great attention would be given to the first five sets of the college.
The College of Health Sciences, FUTA is made up of three Schools (Faculties); the School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS); the School of Basic Clinical Sciences (SBCS); and the School of Clinical Sciences (SCS)
