Lagos State University (Lasu), Ojo, has inducted 92 healthcare professionals comprising 85 medical doctors and seven dental surgeons during its graduating ceremony held at the College’s grand auditorium.
The induction ceremony was its 17th edition during which the largest graduating set of medical doctors were turned out.
While addressing guests and the inductees, the Provost of College of Medicine, Professor Abiodun Adewuya, expressed pride in the inductees’ accomplishments, urging them not to be downcast by the economic downturn experienced by Nigerians at present.
He charged them to see the downturn as an avenue that will motivate them to constant self-improvement through which they can attain various specialities that would be of benefit to the society and the world that is changing rapidly.
“…let the integrity and leadership qualities the College has instilled in each and every single one of you guide your actions and dictate your path to success,” Professor Adewuya advised.
During the occasion, the Hippocratic Oath was led by the Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCAN) Dr T.A.B Sanusi.
Hippocratic Oath is the traditional rite of passage, marking the official entry of the graduates into the medical and dental professions.
