The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has established more cases of Examination malpractices. Disclosing this, the Spokesperson of the Board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, expressed that, “In the course of the exercise, other cases of examination misconduct were also established to make the total tally of 92 from 81 initially discovered.”
Benjamin said, “The Board is also looking at cases of unverified candidates and will soon come up with a position.
He stated that the Board would be proceeding with over 64,000 withheld results, but has released an additional 531 results, making the total number of results released to 1,842,897.
On April 29, 2024, JAMB announced the release of UTME results, withholding 64,624, which will be subjected to investigation, out of the 1,904,189 candidates who sat for the examination.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that the Board had set the minimum cut-off mark for 2024/2025 admissions into local tertiary institutions.
The speculations claimed that JAMB had pegged a minimum of 160 marks for admission into universities, while 120 and 100 marks were pegged for colleges of education and innovative institutions.
However, the speculations have been proven to be false as the policy meeting where the Board will agree on the minimum cut-off marks for admission into tertiary institutions has not been conveyed, nor has JAMB made any official announcement about cut-off marks for the 2024/2025 admissions.
