The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to establish a minimum admission standard soon.
The board has finalized plans to conduct the 2024 admission policy meeting, which will set the tone for the year’s admission exercise, formulate admission guidelines, and present admission statistics.
The policy meeting, which will be chaired by the Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, will also evaluate candidate performance.
Other stakeholders expected in the policy meeting will include heads of regulatory agencies such as the National University Commission (NUC), and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Other agencies to be in attendance are the National Council for Colleges of Education (NCCE), heads of tertiary institutions, and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
This meeting aims to establish standard cut-off marks, putting an end to the misleading cut-off points circulated on social media platforms.
