Low enrollment has forced the National Examination Council (NECO) to reschedule the Common Entrance Examination into Unity Colleges earlier scheduled for April 20, 2024.
According to the Spokesperson of NECO, Azeez Sanni, in a statement issued by the council and released recently, the Entrance Examination has now been rescheduled to be held on June 1, 2024.
Also, Sanni disclosed that the Entrance Examination for the Gifted and Talented Children into Federal Government Academy, Suleja, Niger State, which was to take place May 4, 2024, would now come up on May 25, 2024.
The statement enjoined all the candidates, guardians, parents, schools, and relevant stakeholders to take note of the new dates for the two examinations.
The Council added that the registration of candidates would continue till the new dates for the examinations.
NECO has the mandate to take over the responsibilities of the National Board of Education Measurements (NBEM).
It is also saddled with the responsibility to conduct the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination and the General Certificate in Education in June/July, and November/December respectively.
The Council also conducts the National Common Entrance Examinations (NCEE) in secondary schools and all unity colleges.
