The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has disclosed that out of 1,985,642 candidates that registered for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, 139 foreigners and a total number of 2,026 People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) were captured.
This was contained in application statistics by states of origin released by JAMB, as the Board prepares for the forthcoming UTME scheduled to commence on Friday, April 19 to May 29, 2024.
The disclosure by the Board further revealed that Oyo, Ogun, and Osun topped the list of candidates registration for the 2024 UTME.
Oyo State led the pack as it recorded 123, 636 candidates from 43 registration centres that will be served by five examination centres.
Coming second on the list is Ogun State with 114, 435 candidates registered from 45 registration centres that will be served by four examination centres.
Osun State came third by recording a total number of 110, 854 candidates from 24 registration centres, as it will be served by four registration centres.
Recording the least number of candidates was the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 8,020 candidates from 27 registration points that will be served by four examination centres.
JAMB also disclosed that it registered a total number of 980, 419 males, as against 1,005, 223 females.
