Two University of Lagos (UNILAG) students, Precious Ozegbe and Oluwafunmilayo Odusanwo, both 300 level students of Department of Accounting, have been selected for Word Bank Treasury Summer Internship Programme.
According to Unilag General News, the students are the only Nigerians among sixteen interns selected out of over 900 applicants.
The interns from China, Japan, India, Nigeria, Tanzania, Vietnam, UK and US were selected through rigorous screening exercise.
The selected students will be exposed to dynamic and challenging International work environment, as well as contribute to eradicating of poverty and promoting shared prosperity.
The stride by the students, according to the medium, will be the fifth cohort in the Treasury Summer Internship of the World Bank, which is one of few formal programmes with the World Bank to hire college students for the summer, demonstrating the high calibre of UNILAG students and the quality of education they receive.
Expressing her gratitude, the Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, appreciated the World Bank for encouraging the talent and potential within the university’s students community, charging UNILAG students to continue maximizing their potential.
