A veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Chief Aderemi Adedeji aka Olofa Ina, has died at the age of 73.
His death was confirmed by actor, Saheed Balogun on his Instagram page bidding the veteran actor farewell in his words, ” Goodnight legend Chief Deji Aderemi (Olofa Ina) RIP.”
Olofa Ina, who had been ill briefly, died in his home in Ede, Osun State, Thursday evening.
He was until his death the Sobaloju of Edeland and was known for having a good grab of the Yoruba language.
His lines in movies, plays and films were known to be rich in metaphors, wise sayings and deep proverbs that were well-suited for the task at hand.
Olofa Ina was born on May 15, 1950, into the family of the late Chief Abdusalam Aderemi and the late Mrs Aishat Aderemi of Jagun-Olukosi compound, Ede in Osun State.
He began Olofa Ina Theatre Group in 1972, producing a series of television productions comprising Ade Oba, Kogun Maja, and Lakaaye, among others.
