A group of 400-level students of the Computer Science Department of Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) have won a $5000 prize, emerging victorious in the Payaza 2.0 Hackathon.
For over two intense days, the team members of Francis Okocha-Ojeah, Ogechukwu Ata and Chinwendu Nweje displayed expertise in revolutionalizing Africa’s financial landscape through regenerative AI.
According to the University, the collaboration of Ogechukwu’s mastery of front-end development, Chinwendu’s proficiency in AI and Machine Learning, and Francis’ expertise in Software development provided a great teamwork that earned them victory.
For providing excellent leadership, the leader of the team, Okocha-Ojeah, got an additional $200 prize during the ceremony.
The team tagged ‘Iya’ Finance from the Technology Innovation Club Pan-Atlantic University were inspired by the word ‘Iya’ (Mother) which encompasses the vision of providing financial guidance akin to a mother’s care.
The approach is meant to empower individuals across Africa by offering tailored financial advice adaptable to their unique circumstances.
Learning from user interaction and real-time data, ‘Iya’ Finance aligns with evolving financial aspirations, ensuring that its guidance remains relevant.
The Payaza 2.0 victory stands as a testament to the team’s belief in the transformative potential of regenerative AI and their commitment to fostering financial inclusivity across Africa.
