Similarly, President Joe Biden of the United States expressed his concern for King Charles’ health and assured that he would reach out to the monarch.
President Biden later shared on a social media platform, emphasizing the strength and bravery required to navigate through a cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
He and his wife, Jill, joined with the people of the United Kingdom in praying for His Majesty’s swift and complete recovery.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle also conveyed their good wishes for the King’s full recovery from surgery.
On Monday, Buckingham Palace disclosed that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, although the specific type was not disclosed. The cancer was discovered during treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The King promptly commenced treatment on Monday and has suspended all official duties and engagements until after the surgery and until he receives a clean bill of health, as per the Palace’s statement.
Despite the diagnosis, the 75-year-old King remains optimistic about his treatment and eagerly anticipates resuming his full public duties at the earliest opportunity, the Palace affirmed.
