Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, has attained various notable milestones, earning recognition in the Times Higher Education rankings.
The institution now holds a position in the 51–60 range on the Times Higher Education (THE) – Sub-Saharan Universities Ranking, marking a substantial improvement. Additionally, it currently holds the 12th position in the national ranking.
Further enhancing its academic offerings, the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted full approval for the introduction of new academic programmes. The College of Food, Agricultural Science and Technology (COLFAST), a recently established academic unit, was inaugurated in the 2023/2024 session. Importantly, all Agricultural Programmes within this college are tuition-free, aligning with the university’s vision to contribute significantly to the agricultural sector.
It will be recalled that the university recently held its 15th Convocation, marking a series of significant accomplishments. The event featured the conferral of Honorary Degrees, the presentation of Higher Degrees/Diplomas, Admission to First Degrees, and the recognition of outstanding achievements.
A total of 191 Postgraduate, 295 Direct Entry (Top Up) Students and 448 Undergraduate Students graduated from four distinguished colleges: the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS), the College of Management Sciences (COLMANS), the College of Environmental Sciences (COLENVS), and the College of Engineering (COLENG). Noteworthy is the fact that 37 students achieved the prestigious First Class degree.
The valedictory address was delivered by David Ayoola Faluyi, the overall best-graduating student with an impressive CGPA of 4.96. Faluyi, who majored in Industrial Chemistry from the Department of Chemical Sciences, shared insights during the ceremony.
