Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti’s College of Law continues to shine in legal education in Nigeria, with its recent batch of graduates achieving a 94 percent pass rate in the November 2023 Bar Examination.
The graduates secured 21 First Class and 69 Second Class Upper Division honors, marking a significant improvement from the 2018 performance.
According to Tunde Olofintila, the Director of Corporate Affairs, this achievement underscores the quality of training provided to law graduates during their time at ABUAD.
The university’s success is further highlighted by its recent ranking as the Number 1 University in Nigeria for two consecutive years (2022 & 2023) and its global ranking of 221 in 2023 by the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
ABUAD, despite being only 14 years old, has garnered praise and recognition from national and international education stakeholders, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU), and UNESCO.
The university has been described as a “model, a benchmark, and a reference point for other universities” by the NUC and “the most successful Private University in Nigeria” by AVCNU. UNESCO has endorsed it as “a world-class institution of Higher Education.”
During a briefing with the Founder & Chancellor, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, the Provost of the College of Law, Prof. Tunde Yebisi, expressed immense pride in the achievement.
He attributed the success to Babalola’s visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to excellence, and continuous support for education.
Yebisi also acknowledged the role of other university leaders, staff, and mentors in nurturing the students’ talents and ensuring the university’s status as the College of choice in Legal Education in Nigeria.
In response, Aare Afe Babalola congratulated the graduates, the Vice Chancellor, and all the staff of the College of Law for their dedication to his vision of quality and functional education.
He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support and emphasized the university’s commitment to continuous improvement and global recognition.
