A 200-level Mass Communication student of Pan-Atlantic University, Lekki, Nigeria, Oliviah Ezeh, has won the 2023 Green Story Writing Competition.
The competition aimed at fostering creativity in addressing climate change through storytelling.
It was organized by the University of Southampton and overseen by Professor Denise Baden in Sustainable Business.
Also working alongside Baden in overseeing the competition was the Head of Creative Writing, Carole Burns, whose expertise was described as valuable, and a published writer from Southampton University, Dr Aiysha Jahan.
Ezeh’s winning entry was a captivating short story featuring superheroes, dedicated to combatting climate change and promoting sustainability.
She will receive a prize of $500, which she said would be used to further her education and continue to explore the intersection of storytelling and environmental advocacy.
