The blind, deaf, and dumb candidates are to be favoured by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in its conduct of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
This is reflected in their provisional international timetable for the examination updated on March 7, 2024, recently made available.
The council allows the physically challenged candidates to start their examination one and a half times the time allotted to other candidates.
The circulated timetable is designed for candidates in The Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
Other considerations granted by the council affect Visual Art 3, where question papers are to be given in advance of the date they are to be taken, as papers 3A and 3B will have their instructions given to the schools two weeks before the paper is due to be held.
In paper 3C, candidates will be required to execute their projects within six weeks of the examination year, while the period of submission of art pieces will be submitted to the school by the Council.
The timetable shows the examination will commence with a Food and Nutrition (practical) planning session coming up on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 8:30 to 9:30.
English Language (Essay, Objective, and Test of Orals) is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2024, while English Language 3 (oral) comes up on Friday, June 21, 2024.
Candidates are to sit for General Mathematics/Mathematics (core) 2 (Essay) and General Mathematics/ Mathematics (core) 1 (Objective) on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
